About Me

Hey there! I’m Tazeen,  and my life is an exhilarating quest filled with experiences that spark wonder and curiosity. My mission? It’s simple –  to sprinkle kindness, ignite smiles, and leave a trail of positivity wherever I tread. With empathy, relentless resilience, and a dash of elbow grease, I’m a firm believer that dreams are within reach.

In my professional voyage, I’m dedicated to empowering small businesses, refining processes, and infusing innovation into daily operations. Initially joining Perfumes Los Angeles as an Associate Project Manager, I collaborated closely with the CEO on visionary endeavors and orchestrated critical implementations. Currently, as the Special Projects Manager, I serve as the architect of dreams, crafting strategies to optimize operations and foster organic growth. Before this, at aKartel LLC, I led startups and small businesses through transformative process overhauls and seamless technological integrations. Perfumes Los Angeles holds a special place in my journey, marking the beginning of my professional endeavors.

My work centers on igniting the spark of innovation and creativity in others. By leading workshops infused with design thinking principles, I aim to create an environment where traditional boundaries are reimagined. This not only encourages a spirit of experimentation but also empowers individuals to explore their creative capabilities, fostering organizational evolution and positive change.

Recently, I took a leap of faith and relocated to Greenville, South Carolina—a city brimming with charm, opportunity, and Southern hospitality. While navigating this new landscape, I’m discovering the vibrant community and picturesque surroundings, finding inspiration in every corner.

Eight years ago, I embarked on a fun adventure by choosing to call Los Angeles home—a hub that pulsates with life, creativity, and endless opportunities. Amidst navigating the colorful mosaic of LA’s urban sprawl, I’ve indulged in my passions, from coding and devouring books to pedaling through sun-kissed trails and embracing the thrill of Improv Comedy. Dancing? Ah, it’s my secret potion for joy—a reminder that life is a dance waiting to be embraced with open arms.

Grounded in open-mindedness, creativity, empathy, and an abundance of optimism, driven by sharp wit — I approach life with intention and purposeful action. And connecting with fellow adventurers who share these values? It’s what adds richness and depth to every chapter of my story.

Whether you’re seeking to embark on new adventures or simply wish to send a friendly wave, I’m just an email away at taz@tazeenshaikh.com. Let’s make magic happen!

What is the future of NFT applications?

NFTs, Grimes used it to sell digital art worth millions, and the founder of Twitter even used it to sell his first tweet. But what exactly is an NFT, and will they be around for much longer, or are they some kind of digital trend that will quickly fade away. Let me be the first to say that from ...

Circle of Competence: a Mental Model for Investments and Life

The Circle of Competence is a concept that has helped investors like Charlie Munger and Warren Buffet get to where they are today. So, what is the Circle of Competence? It’s simply knowing what you’re good at and knowing what you’re not good at. If it sounds obvious, you would be surprised at...

How the Twaddle Tendency is a Verbal Smokescreen

The twaddle tendency is the need to speak confidently on something we don’t know enough about. The talk that comes from the twaddle tendency never adds value or unique input. It’s typically a rote repetition of facts, lines they’ve heard somewhere else, or a jumbled grouping of authoritative-...

The Dunning-Kruger Effect and What You Think You Know

What is the Dunning-Kruger effect? To put it simply, it’s the correlation of excess confidence to limited knowledge. It also shows a correlation for lower confidence in more capable people.  Ironically, people overestimate their knowledge about the Dunning-Kruger effect too. Take a lo...

Blockchain simplified: What you need to know

More people are increasingly becoming aware of blockchain because of the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Etherium, and, more recently, Dogecoin. But how exactly do blockchain work, and what is to stop someone from tampering with them? More people must understand how blockchain ...

How to Avoid Stupidity and Solve Problems using Inversion

Inversion is probably one of the most important mental models you can learn, not because of what it can help you do, but because of what it can help you avoid. Inversion looks at a problem backward, asking the opposite of what it is you’re trying to achieve. If you want brilliance, you avoid stup...

What is the Lollapalooza effect?

By now, you may already know something about cognitive biases, but you probably haven’t given too much thought to how they interact. Charlie Munger, an incredibly successful investor, coined the Lollapalooza effect to describe the interactions between cognitive biases and how they interact with e...

How to Learn Anything With The Feynman Technique

We like to think of human memory in a similar way to a computer’s memory. But this is far from the truth. Unlike machines, encoding a memory requires us to work with how our minds evolved to build memories. We can’t just recall everything we hear or see. The Feynman Technique was created...

Expecting The Unexpected With Hickam’s Dictum

“Patients can have as many diseases as they damn well please.”   John Hickam Occam’s Razor implies that the simplest answer is usually the correct one. This is often not the case in the medical profession. The body is a complicated organism with a lot of moving parts.  To ...

Why The Lipstick Effect Forces Us To Rethink Spending

The lipstick effect defies what most people would come to expect during an economic downturn. The theory states that during a recession, the sales for lipstick nearly always increase. This has been shown in many cases, and it continues to perplex economists. A few theories may explain the ca...
